« Going into November. | Election Update #1. »

 Election Day.

窶廩ave you voted?窶
Today was the Election Day. I heard this conversation many times every where in the campus. I was also asked that question even though I don窶冲 have the citizenship. The polling place was opened two weeks ago on the campus, so one of my friends voted for Kerry at that time. Somehow, I was glad to hear the conversation concerned the election.

Today窶冱 newspaper The Des Moines Register said 窶廬t窶冱 up to you窶 in the headline. Iowa is one of the swing states, so that the future really depends on the people in Iowa. That was good saying.
The newspaper also suggests going to vote with twenty reasons. One of the amusing reasons why people should vote was 窶廝ecause, for some strange reasons, it just makes you feel good.窶 I have already voted for three times in Japan. I certainly felt good after the vote. I guess the feeling that I contributed to the society and fulfilled the duty makes me happy regardless of the outcome. That was persuasive.

In today窶冱 diary, I would like to report the situation 窶徘lay-by-play窶 with watching CNN. The diary will be updated time to time.

So far, Kerry leads 11 votes in the electoral vote; Kerry 77 to Bush 66. 270 electoral votes are needed to win the presidency.
