 Strengthening my muscles.

It is getting colder here. I heard the news that some parts in the United States have already snowed. Yes, winter is definitely coming. I am really excited to have this season, because I can go skiing. But unfortunately, two years ago, when I was in the racing ski team, I got injured; I broke my left knee窶冱 ligament. Then, I stopped racing ski. But skiing is still big fun for me. I窶冦 really looking forward to going skiing every winter.

Skiing safely, I have to strengthen my upper leg窶冱 muscle to support my knee. Today, one of my friends Fredy, from Germany, taught me how to do exercise my muscle at gym. His major is English and Physical Education.

I learned 6 different kinds of exercises. Some were quite difficult, others were comparatively easy. (If possible, I would like to explain all of those, but it is hard to explain without using pictures.) He recommended me to do easy exercise everyday or twice a day. On the other hand, difficult exercises which using machines should be twice a week, he told me. One interesting exercise was 窶忤alking exercise.窶 It was not just walking, but I have to walk slowly in a kind of funny way; using and weighing muscles during walking. It really looks strange, but it is good for my muscles, he emphasized. Also, I did know some of the exercises using machines. I learned it during the rehabilitation in the hospital right after the 窶彗ccident窶.

The most important thing for the exercise is to keep going. Practice does make perfect muscles for skiing, in my case. I would like to do keep exercising for safe and enjoyable ski trip.
