« Presidential election. | Hurricane and typhoon. »

 3rd year of Sept. 11.

Today, in the morning, I attended the special event on campus. That was ringing the bell in memory of the terror attack窶冱 victims, the attack happened three years ago. Students and faculties were gathered in front of the victory bell (which is in the campus, but I don窶冲 know much about that bell), and each rang the bell at 9:11am. Every cities, universities, and colleges seemed to have had this kind of ceremony at the same time. The bell resounded over the campus.
When the terror attack occurred, I was traveling Thailand with a friend. I watched TV in the hotel. It was incredible. I thought it must be a Hollywood movie. I was not interested in the politics or international affairs then, so I didn窶冲 understand the reason why the attack happened. It was first time to hear about Al Qaeda or Bin Laden. However, since then, I had interests, studied a lot, now that I can explain the causes of the terror. With ringing the bell, I thought about the casualties. Almost all the people didn窶冲 predict that incident. It was absolute tragedy.
According to the poll taken by the Aljazeela.net, 73 percent of the voters don窶冲 think that the United States won the 窶忤ar on terror窶. As I pointed out in this diary in April, the war was still lasting until then since the war started in Mar 2003. The result indicates that the war hasn窶冲 ended yet. The fact that many people, both soldiers and civilians in Iraq were dead until now describes the United States get bogged down in the war.
Democrats insist that the president confused Al Qaeda with Iraq. It will be true. There were no weapons of mass destruction. This misunderstanding should be blamed. Over 1000 U.S. soldiers have died until now. It may be the time to bring the troops back to home.

After the lunch, I went to a football game and watched with my friend. It was Coe against St.Thomas University. The game took place at the Clark Field, lots of people came. Although it was fun, because the rules are so complicated, I often didn窶冲 understand what has happened, when the audience applauded.

The 2nd quarter ended, then, we went to the racquet center to take a rest. First we were going to take a short rest, but it was so comfortable that we stayed there until dinner time. We talked a lot. At last, no one said to go to watch the game again, so I don窶冲 know the result of the game.

Having had the dinner, I went to buy beers with another friend. Beers are not expensive here in the United States. It was about thirteen dollars for thirty cans. It is true that the taste is inferior to the Japanese beer, but it is unbelievable price. For one thing, it may be the difference of the tax system, but I don窶冲 know in detail.

It was the peaceful day for me. I hope anyone in the world will be able to enjoy such days in the future.
