Today, I went to the meeting. The club was Amnesty International. At my home, Amnesty also has a chapter, my friends belong to, and I have been interested in the activity.

7 students came to the meeting. The main purpose of the group is to get campus awareness, especially about human right or women窶冱 right issues. To achieve this goal, we will invite speakers to have a lecture presentation.

We are going to have some other activities.
The first one is letter writing. This activity is just to write a letter, but it is very important. Various kind of the violence still occurs in the world. To help to solve these problems, we send a letter for the concerned person.

I will join some specific groups based on my interests. I am now interested in women窶冱 rights, death penalty, and human rights abuses in the United States. I will join the groups which discuss such problems.

Amnesty club is going to cooperate with other organizations such as Coe Alliance. This is because both clubs have the same kind of the awareness of the issues.
Interestingly, I had similar experience at home; Gender studies society and Amnesty International Waseda chapter had the study conference together. It was completely by chance.

I窶冦 really glad to be able to get involved with this club. I would like to participate in activities positively, and get to know more about the United States.
