 Homecoming Dance Party.

Today was a really cold day.

I went to see the American football game Coe against Loras College. It was held in the Clark Field. I got to know the complicated rules, so I could understand what was going on the field to some extent. But it was too cold to see the game, so I gave up watching just one quarter. I don窶冲 know which team won at last. Many graduates came to see the game in spite of the cold climate.

After that, I saw a movie Fahrenheit 9/11 in my room. And then, I had a dinner. After taking a nap, I changed the clothes to go to the homecoming dance party. It was one of the main events of the homecoming day.

The party was held at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Every attendant dressed up, so that they looked so sharp and beautiful. The hall was much larger than I had thought. Hundreds of people came. Free food and some drinks were served. It started at 9:30pm, and ended 1am.

The dance party was entirely new experience for me. The 窶廣merican style窶 party was overwhelming. Everyone danced with music all the time. One of my American friends told me that this kind of party was 窶徨eally popular窶 in the United States. Although he said he didn窶冲 like to dance, he danced so well. On the other hand, I wasn窶冲 able to dance much. Eventually, I couldn窶冲 get used to the atmosphere, so I talked with my friends or had some drinks almost all of the time. Some of my Japanese friends seemed to enjoy dancing.

Anyway, I enjoyed the Homecoming week. Unlike the Waseda窶冱 homecoming day, the events were held over the weekend, so that both students and graduates were able to enjoy the events with spending long time. (In Waseda, we have only one day for the homecoming despite many graduates come back to the campus from all over the Japan.) That seemed to me one of the big advantages. I will be the alumni both Waseda and Coe. I窶冦 really looking forward to seeing my old friends after the study in both colleges.
