I heard some big earthquakes hit Niigata, northern-western Japan. Many people were injured, have to evacuate to the shelter still now.

On the other hand, in the United States, especially here, Midwest of the States, seldom have earthquakes. Unbelievably, the most recent one was over 20 years ago. Most of the earthquakes in the United States occur in California, West Coast.

Most people in Japan are ready to have a big earthquake anytime, anywhere. About 10 years ago, one big earthquake occurred in Kobe, western Japan. People know the importance of the preparation, and recognize it does work well for any unpredicted disasters. My family already has emergency provisions. My hometown, Tokai district in central Japan, has been said that enormous earthquakes will happen in 10 or more years. The earthquake does occur all of sudden. The horror experience is beyond description. Good preparation is definitely helpful and useful, it is obvious.
