The Thanksgiving holidays start today. Most students go somewhere during this five-day holiday. My roommate left here to Mexico on Saturday, the other friend went back to his home. Some Japanese friends visit friends窶� house, others travel somewhere.
However, I don窶冲 go anywhere except for the Thanksgiving Day. One of the faculties who I got to know since I came here invited me for Thanksgiving dinner. He is an advisor for the club and teaching Gender Studies and Germany here. He is a vegetarian, so that it will be kind of 窶忖ntraditional窶� thanksgiving dinner. (Usually, people have turkey for thanksgiving dinner.) But I am really looking forward to visiting him.
Only three Japanese students won窶冲 leave here, so our ESL teacher also invited us to her house on weekend. Thanksgiving Day is November 25th. Only this day and weekend, I have schedules. Most of the time will be free. It will be a good rest and relaxing time.

(I had a plan to visit my host family, but they are going to meet cousins and daughter in somewhere in the United States, so I cannot visit them this time. Generally, during the Thanksgiving, all cousins or families will gather and have a big dinner. It is like Obon or New Year窶冱 holidays in Japan.)

However, not only will the students take a rest, but also whole the campus will take a rest. Therefore, library or cafeteria will close during the holidays. No matter how I have much time, I cannot spend it efficiently without the library. Thinking about good use of time, one of my friends suggested me to watch movies. Yes, we can check out the videotapes or videodiscs from the library. Usually, the number of them is limited, but here, it is not limited. 窶廣s many as you desire,窶� the librarian said to me. I borrowed 8 movies; 窶廴y Fair Lady,窶� 窶弃retty Woman,窶� 窶廣ll about my mother,窶� 窶廩edwig,窶� 窶弋he Pianist窶� (in Japan, this movie has a different title; the pianist at the war), 窶彝un Lora Run,窶� 窶�8 Mile,窶� and 窶彜pider-man.窶� Most of them are the recommendation by my friend, because I don窶冲 watch movies so much in Japan. (Do you know which movies are my choices?) I am going to write impressions for these movies each time. I will report on this diary. I think I have much time to do that.
Tonight, I will watch 窶弃retty Woman.窶� I am excited to see all these movies during this holiday.
